Contests
The Arizona State Poetry Society’s Annual Contest is the high point of ASPS’s offerings. It features over 20 categories in a variety of formats and topics, each with its own cash prizes. The Annual Contest opens June 1 each year and closes August 31.
The Member Contests are featured five times a year (January/March/May/July/September) in three different categories with a total of nine cash prizes.
The Annual Youth Contest is for all students throughout the state of Arizona. The contest opens each year on February 15 and closes April 30. Youth do not need to be a member of ASPS to enter or win.
We are also supporters of the National Contest held by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS).
Annual Contest
Arizona State Poetry Society offers an Annual Contest, open to members and non-members, each year, beginning in June.
Member Contests
ASPS encourages members to participate in the ASPS Member Only Poetry Contest.
The ASPS Member Contest is held five times a year in the months of January, March, May, July, and September.
Youth Contest
All students throughout the state of Arizona are welcome to participate. The contest opens each year on February 15 and closes April 30. Youth do not need to be a member of ASPS to enter or win.
NFSPS Contests
NFSPS offers a variety of poetry contests each year – there’s something for everyone!
